Kez vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Parrying a single big spell is one thing, but Kez's defensive tools don't do much against the constant stream of damage-over-time effects coming from Venomancer. Every attempt to trade or all-in during the early game means taking poison damage that's hard to avoid or mitigate. Venomancer thrives in these drawn-out exchanges where his damage ticks away at an opponent's health bar. However, this entire game plan is threatened if Kez can ignore the poison for a few seconds to close the distance, since Venomancer is fragile and has no escape mechanism.

The matchup often becomes a race against the clock. Venomancer and his team will try to leverage his early strength to control the map and end the game before Kez comes online. Kez, on the other hand, plays to survive this pressure and farm the items he needs to deal with the poison, like a Black King Bar or a dispel.
