Kez vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Trying to close the distance on Zeus is the core problem for Kez. His entire kit, with its stance-swapping and parries, is built around winning a close-quarters duel against a target he can see and react to. Zeus completely sidesteps this game plan. Most of his damage is magical, widespread, and difficult to dodge or parry, coming from a safe distance. Zeus can also reveal a flanking Kez with Lightning Bolt, taking away the element of surprise that melee carries often depend on to initiate a fight on their own terms.

This dynamic makes the entire game difficult for Kez. During the laning phase, he is constantly harassed by spells he cannot trade back against. Later, even a successful gank attempt can be ruined from anywhere on the map by a Thundergod's Wrath that either finishes him off or forces him to retreat. Kez has to invest heavily into a Black King Bar very early, while Zeus can simply play his game, staying in the backline and applying constant pressure. It’s a frustrating matchup where one hero’s strengths directly negate the other’s.
