Kunkka vs Luna

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against a Luna often comes down to whether you can reliably kill her. Kunkka has the perfect tool for this with X Marks the Spot, which can pull Luna out of position and set up a full combo. This forces Luna to either play very safely or rush a defensive item like a Black King Bar sooner than she might want to. However, Kunkka's ability to clear waves with Tidebringer doesn't quite match the sheer speed at which Luna can farm the map with Moon Glaives. This creates a natural tension between Kunkka's ganking threat and Luna's economic pressure.

The game becomes a race. Kunkka wants to hit his item timings and start hunting Luna with his team, using Ghostship to win fights before she becomes a problem. If he can repeatedly find and kill her, his team can snowball and take objectives. Luna's team, on the other hand, wants to stall and create space. Their goal is to protect Luna until she has the items to survive Kunkka's initial burst and then turn the fight with her high damage output from Eclipse and her attacks. The winner is often the team that better executes their respective game plan.
