How this matchup plays

Landing Kunkka's full combo on a Void Spirit is a game of prediction. Void Spirit can use Dissimilate to dodge the damage from Torrent and Ghostship, even if he's pulled back by X Marks the Spot. This forces the Kunkka player to either perfectly time the combo for when Dissimilate is on cooldown or try to bait it out first. A single misstep from Void Spirit, however, means he gets caught with no escape and is an easy kill for the setup. The entire interaction revolves around which player can outmaneuver the other, with tools on both sides to win the exchange.

This dynamic extends across the whole game. In lane, Kunkka’s Tidebringer can be a nuisance, but Void Spirit has his own shield to mitigate the harass and can trade back effectively. Later on, Kunkka struggles to reliably lock down a mobile Void Spirit in teamfights. He often has to use X Marks the Spot and Ghostship on a more vulnerable target instead. This leaves Void Spirit free to use his own mobility to flank Kunkka's team and disrupt the back lines. It's a matchup that depends heavily on execution and which hero finds better opportunities to enact their plan.
