Legion Commander vs Lifestealer

How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a game of chicken centered on their key abilities. Lifestealer can activate Rage to become immune to Duel's lockdown and damage, forcing Legion Commander to either wait or find a different target. Conversely, a well-timed Duel can hold Lifestealer in place before he can use Rage or lifesteal his way through a fight. The matchup often comes down to who gets to use their spell on their own terms. Complicating things further, Legion Commander's Press the Attack is a strong dispel that can cleanse Open Wounds from an ally, saving them from being run down.

Throughout the game, both heroes try to bait out the other's main cooldown. Lifestealer and his team will often try to force a fight that pressures Legion Commander into dueling someone else, leaving her vulnerable afterward. Legion Commander’s team does the reverse, trying to poke at Lifestealer until he uses Rage defensively, which creates the window they need to go on him. The fight often depends less on the heroes themselves and more on which team better enables their carry to act when the enemy's defenses are down.
