How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Duel is a major problem for Lycan. His strength lies in running down targets with Shapeshift and his summons, but Duel completely stops his mobility and isolates him from his team's support. While his wolves can still attack Legion Commander during the fight, the lockdown itself is usually enough for her team to collapse and finish him off. Legion's Overwhelming Odds also helps her deal with the swarm of units that Lycan brings to a fight, giving her a burst of damage and speed that can turn the tables.

The early game often favors Lycan, who can pressure lanes and take objectives while Legion Commander farms up her core items. The matchup hinges on the mid-game, once Legion gets a Blink Dagger. Her ability to initiate from fog and lock down a pushing Lycan can halt his momentum entirely. This forces Lycan to play much more cautiously, often needing specific items to survive the Duel or relying heavily on his teammates for saves.
