How this matchup plays

Dueling a target near Magnus is always a risk. His Reverse Polarity can stun Legion Commander for its full duration, completely turning the fight and saving her target. This threat forces Legion Commander to be extremely careful about her initiations. However, she holds a key advantage in smaller skirmishes or when catching heroes out of position. If she finds Magnus alone, Duel provides a lockdown that he can't easily escape on his own. Press the Attack's dispel also lets her remove slows from spells like Skewer, making it harder for him to peel for his allies or create space before she commits.

The dynamic forces Legion Commander to play a patient game. She has to leverage smoke and vision control to find pickoffs away from the protection of Magnus and his team. Magnus, conversely, wants to group up and use the threat of a multi-hero Reverse Polarity to deter LC from starting a fight. If Legion Commander can't secure early duel damage and snowball before Magnus gets his core items, his ability to counter-initiate during teamfights often becomes the more decisive factor.
