Legion Commander vs Pugna

How this matchup plays

Drafting Pugna can feel like a solid defensive choice against a Legion Commander, but the matchup is a constant test of reaction speed. Pugna's entire survival plan hinges on casting Decrepify on himself before Duel lands. This makes him immune to her physical attacks, completely wasting her ultimate. He can also use it to disarm her from a distance, buying time for his team. However, Legion Commander can remove the disarm from herself with Press the Attack. This forces a tense mind game where both heroes are trying to bait out the other's key defensive or offensive spell before committing to a fight.

Throughout the game, the pressure is always on Pugna. While he has the tools to counter a Duel attempt, he has to execute them perfectly every single time. Legion Commander only needs to find one opening—catching Pugna channeling Life Drain, or when Decrepify is on cooldown—to secure a kill and permanent damage. A Nether Ward can punish Legion's spell usage, but her fundamental goal is to get a clean Duel on a fragile hero. Eventually, she's likely to find that opportunity, which gives her a small but consistent edge across the game.
