Legion Commander vs Timbersaw

How this matchup plays

Winning Duels against Timbersaw is often the key to unlocking Legion Commander’s snowball potential. It lets her build up damage early and start controlling the map. Timbersaw is an especially good target because Duel completely disables his kit, meaning he can't use Timber Chain to escape or Whirling Death to cut her attributes. While his Reactive Armor does provide a lot of defense, Legion Commander naturally builds items that can break this passive. More importantly, Press the Attack gives her a crucial dispel to remove the stat reduction from Whirling Death, ensuring she can hit hard throughout the Duel's duration.

Once Legion Commander gets her Blink Dagger, the game becomes very difficult for Timbersaw. He can't safely split-push or show in lanes alone, as he's the primary target for a pick-off. This forces the Timbersaw player to group with his team far earlier and more often than he'd like, limiting his farm and impact. His team is forced to play defensively around him, trying to save him from Duels. Legion Commander, on the other hand, can play aggressively, using the threat of a successful Duel on an easy target to create space and secure objectives for her own team.
