Legion Commander vs Troll Warlord

How this matchup plays

Dueling a Troll Warlord is always a gamble for Legion Commander. If Troll has his ultimate, Battle Trance, he simply can't die and will usually win the one-on-one fight, turning the Duel into a free kill for his own team. This forces a standoff. Legion Commander also has to contend with the miss chance from Whirling Axes, which can completely undermine her damage output during a Duel. For her part, a well-timed Press the Attack on herself provides the attack speed needed to trade blows effectively and can purge away slows that might prevent her from getting into position in the first place.

The matchup becomes a game of cooldowns and positioning. Legion Commander hunts for moments when Battle Trance has been used, creating a window to secure a Duel victory. In response, a good Troll Warlord player has to be disciplined with his ultimate, knowing that a single mistake can give away permanent damage. Fights often come down to who gets the jump, or which team can react faster to help their carry inside the Duel. The outcome is rarely certain, as both heroes have the tools to win the engagement if they use them correctly.
