Legion Commander vs Tusk

How this matchup plays

Protecting an ally from a Blink-Duel initiation is Tusk's main job in this matchup. A quick Snowball can make Legion Commander's primary target immune right as she jumps, causing the spell to fail and putting her in a bad spot. Tusk can also heavily influence a Duel in progress with his burst damage and stuns. However, a core item for Legion Commander is Blade Mail, which directly punishes anyone, including Tusk, who tries to unload their damage onto her while she is Dueling. Her Press the Attack also provides a useful dispel against slows like Tag Team.

Early in the game, Tusk's rotations and saves can make it very difficult for Legion to build up Duel damage. The threat of a Snowball save forces Legion to be more careful with her initiations. As the game goes on, however, Legion Commander naturally gets tankier and can more reliably survive being focused. At this point, her goal often shifts to catching Tusk himself. Once caught by Duel, Tusk has no way to escape and is usually an easy kill, which gives Legion a consistent way to scale if she can find the right opportunity.
