Legion Commander vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against Legion Commander becomes incredibly difficult because she sees Venomancer as a walking damage bonus. He's a naturally slow and fragile hero, making him the perfect target for Duel. Winning these duels consistently lets Legion snowball her damage and take over the mid-game. The core of the problem for Venomancer is that he has no real way to survive being initiated on. Furthermore, Legion's Press the Attack cleanses Venomous Gale, his primary lockdown and setup spell, making it much harder for him to land a kill or escape.

This forces Venomancer to play extremely cautiously from the moment Legion Commander gets her Blink Dagger. He can’t split-push or ward aggressively without risking his life. In teamfights, Legion’s priority is almost always to jump and eliminate Venomancer before he can cast Poison Nova. Veno’s only real counterplay is to stay so far back that he can't be caught, but this also limits his own effectiveness. The game often becomes a race between Legion catching him and him getting his ultimate off, and Legion usually wins that race.
