Leshrac vs Venomancer

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against Venomancer is often a frustrating stalemate for Leshrac. Leshrac's ability to shred creep waves and buildings with Diabolic Edict is met by Venomancer's capacity to defend indefinitely with Plague Wards. Both heroes output a tremendous amount of magic damage, but in conflicting styles. Leshrac wants to be in the middle of the fight with Pulse Nova, but Venomancer’s slows and poisons make it incredibly difficult for him to stick on any target. At the same time, Venomancer is extremely fragile and dies almost instantly if Leshrac ever manages to close the distance.

This dynamic creates a race for tempo across the game. Leshrac excels at flash-farming the map and wants to push for an early end, taking objectives before Venomancer’s Poison Nova becomes a fight-defining ultimate. Venomancer’s team wants the opposite: to slow the game, establish map control with wards, and force fights on their own terms. The winner of any engagement is usually decided by initiation. If Leshrac gets the jump, Venomancer evaporates. If Venomancer catches Leshrac from the fog, the constant damage and slows will bring him down before he can fight back effectively.
