Lich vs Queen of Pain

How this matchup plays

Blinking aggressively onto a target is Queen of Pain's whole game, but Lich has the perfect tools to shut that down. Frost Shield immediately slows her attack and movement speed while absorbing a good chunk of her initial burst, making it hard to secure a kill. If she commits, Sinister Gaze pulls her right back, holding her in place for a counter-attack. A hero who relies on mobility to survive is completely neutralized by a simple, targeted disable. Lich can even drop Chain Frost on the stationary target, turning her own aggression into a teamfight disaster for her side.

This dynamic makes the mid-game incredibly difficult for Queen of Pain. She wants to create pressure with solo pickoffs, but Lich can make any core unkillable by simply standing behind them. This forces QoP to play much more passively, waiting for Gaze to be used on someone else before she can even think about blinking in. She often has to rush a Black King Bar to have any impact, delaying her damage progression. Lich, meanwhile, has a straightforward game plan: stick with his team and be ready to punish the first sign of a jump.
