Lich vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map with skeletons gives Wraith King a tempo advantage that's tough for Lich to manage. Chain Frost is a powerful teamfight spell, but Wraith King's summons often absorb the bounces, preventing the ultimate from reaching more important targets. Even in a best-case scenario where Lich orchestrates a kill on Wraith King, Reincarnation means he has to do it all over again. This second life completely resets the fight, often after Lich has already committed his most impactful spells.

This interaction makes it hard for Lich to halt Wraith King's pushes or secure a clean kill. Wraith King can farm aggressively and pressure towers, knowing that Lich alone can't truly threaten him. His skeletons constantly shove lanes and create economic pressure. Lich's best response is to coordinate with his team to ensure they have enough damage to kill Wraith King twice, or to simply ignore him and use his spells on more fragile backline heroes. It puts the burden of execution on the Lich's side.
