Lifestealer vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst Lifestealer with magic damage is a losing play. Lina relies entirely on her spell combo to delete heroes, but Lifestealer's Rage provides complete magic immunity on a fairly low cooldown. This means both her Light Strike Array stun and her Laguna Blade ultimate do nothing at the crucial moment. Once her spells are wasted, Lina has no escape and very little armor. Lifestealer can easily close the distance, slow her, and tear her apart with physical attacks while healing himself. He effectively turns her main strength into a non-factor.

This dynamic defines any teamfight where both heroes are present. Lifestealer's whole job becomes finding and killing Lina, often using an Infest bomb or a Blink Dagger to get on top of her instantly. In response, Lina is forced to play extremely defensively, waiting for Rage to be used on someone else or buying items like Ghost Scepter or Eul's Scepter to survive. This delays her own damage progression and puts her on the back foot. Unless her team can provide perfect protection and lock down Lifestealer before he can act, he will consistently run her over from the mid-game onwards.
