Controlling the map against Outworld Destroyer feels more straightforward because Lifestealer can dictate the terms of engagement. The core of the matchup is Rage. Activating spell immunity allows Lifestealer to completely ignore Astral Imprisonment and the heavy damage from Sanity's Eclipse. This creates a clear window where Lifestealer can run directly at Outworld Destroyer, who loses his primary defensive tool and his main teamfight contribution. For a hero who wants to close the distance and trade hits, being able to shrug off the enemy's entire magical kit is a significant advantage.

This dynamic forces Outworld Destroyer to play cautiously around the Rage cooldown. When it's available, Lifestealer can pressure objectives knowing OD can't easily stop him.
