Lifestealer vs Puck

How this matchup plays

Trying to control a Lifestealer is a losing battle for Puck. The fundamental problem is Rage, which makes Lifestealer immune to everything in Puck's arsenal. The silence from Waning Rift, the stun and leash from Dream Coil, and all of Puck's magic damage are completely negated. This leaves Puck with only Phase Shift for defense, but that spell doesn't last long enough against a hero who can slow you and simply keep hitting. Lifestealer can run at Puck, activate his magic immunity, and end the fight with right-clicks.

This dynamic forces Puck to play defensively for the entire game. A big Dream Coil initiation is often wasted, as Lifestealer will walk straight through it to attack the back line. Puck is relegated to using Illusory Orb to escape and trying to perfectly time Phase Shift to dodge attacks, which is an exhausting and difficult task. For Lifestealer, the plan is simple: find Puck on the map, press one button, and eliminate a slippery, high-value target with ease.
