Lifestealer vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Fighting into an Undying can feel very different for Lifestealer depending on the stage of the game. Lifestealer has built-in answers to Undying’s kit. Rage allows him to completely purge the strength drain from Decay, and the zombies from Tombstone provide a reliable source of healing through Feast. This makes it difficult for Undying to kite or overwhelm a Lifestealer in a direct mid-game engagement, as the zombies become a liability that heal Lifestealer instead of killing him. The constant threat from Flesh Golem's damage amplification is also less scary when Rage is active.

The entire matchup often comes down to a race against the clock. Undying excels in the laning phase, where he can repeatedly use Decay to harass and zone out a melee hero like Lifestealer, slowing down his farm. If Undying can successfully shut him down early, his team can group up and push before Lifestealer gets the items he needs to fight back. Lifestealer's goal is simply to survive this early pressure. Once he has a few core items, he can turn the tables, confidently running at Undying and using his own tools against him.
