Lifestealer vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by Lifestealer is a nightmare for a hero like Weaver. The entire game plan for Weaver revolves around kiting and escaping with Shukuchi, but Lifestealer’s Open Wounds provides a massive, non-dispellable slow that makes this almost impossible. Once slowed, there’s little hope. Lifestealer can activate Rage to become spell immune, shrugging off any stuns or disables from Weaver or his allies that would normally create an escape window. Even if Weaver survives the initial burst, Lifestealer can stay on top of him and finish the job, often before Time Lapse can even be used.

This pressure defines the matchup from the mid-game onward. Lifestealer actively seeks out Weaver, who becomes a prime target for Infest ganks that offer very little warning. To survive, Weaver is often forced to invest in defensive items he doesn’t want to buy, which delays his own damage and impact on the game. Meanwhile, Lifestealer is free to build his core items, confident that he has the perfect tools to lock down and eliminate one of the most mobile heroes on the enemy team. Weaver must rely heavily on his teammates for saves.
