Lina vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a full combo on Sniper is often frustrating. Lina's spells have a decent cast range, but Sniper's kit is built to stay even farther away. Once he levels Take Aim, he can attack from outside the reach of Light Strike Array. This forces the Lina player to buy a Blink Dagger or find an initiation from invisibility just to get in range. Even their ultimates show the difference: Sniper can cast Assassinate from across the screen, while Lina has to step into danger to connect with Laguna Blade.

The laning phase can feel fairly even, with both heroes trading harass. The matchup starts to tilt as Sniper gets items that extend his range, making him harder to approach. For Lina to win a fight, she has to be the one to initiate and close the distance. If she gets the jump, Sniper is fragile enough to die to her burst. Sniper's plan is simpler: position safely behind his team, use Shrapnel to slow any approach, and attack from a distance where Lina can't answer back. The advantage is his to lose through poor positioning.
