Lina vs Void Spirit

How this matchup plays

Dodging Lina's combo is the core of this matchup. Void Spirit can use Dissimilate to become untargetable, making it very difficult for Lina to land her Light Strike Array or even her Laguna Blade. This forces her to either bait out the spell or get a perfect jump, which is not always possible. On top of that, Resonant Pulse provides a magic damage shield that can absorb a significant portion of her burst, even if her spells do land. Void Spirit has the exact tools needed to consistently survive what Lina wants to do, putting the pressure on her to execute perfectly.

This dynamic means Void Spirit often sets the pace. He can be the aggressor, using his mobility and shield to trade well and then escape if Lina commits her stun. Later on, he roams the map looking for kills while Lina might need to wait for teammates to provide lockdown for her. If Lina can get ahead and secure an item like a Scythe of Vyse, she can turn the tables by instantly disabling him. Until that point, she has to play carefully, as Void Spirit is always a threat to jump in, survive her counter-attack, and escape.
