Catching a single Meepo clone out of position is where Lion can find an opening. His combination of Hex and Earth Spike provides enough lockdown to isolate one Meepo, and Finger of Death offers a reliable way to secure the kill before it can escape. The reverse is equally true, however. A fragile hero like Lion can't survive being the target of a multi-clone Poof combo, meaning he dies instantly if Meepo gets the jump. It creates a tense dynamic where both heroes are a serious threat to the other, and initiation is everything.

This matchup often boils down to a clash of tempos. Meepo aims to accelerate his farm, hit an early item timing, and then completely take over the map with his army. Lion’s role is to disrupt that plan. By roaming and looking for pickoffs on a stray Meepo clone, he can stall that snowball and create space for his own cores. A successful gank from Lion can reset Meepo’s momentum, while a failed attempt can leave Lion out of position and feed a crucial kill.
