Lion vs Naga Siren

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can burst down a Naga Siren with single-target spells is a common trap. Lion seems perfect for the job with Hex and Finger of Death, but Naga's Mirror Image makes finding the right target a total guessing game. Wasting those long cooldowns on an illusion is a fight-losing mistake. While Mana Drain can technically reveal the real hero since it only targets actual heroes, standing still to channel it against an army of illusions is asking to get surrounded and killed. Lion has the tools to lock her down, but Naga Siren has the perfect tools to make him miss.

This creates a real cat-and-mouse game across the map. Early on, Lion can be a serious threat in lane, setting up kills on Naga Siren before she gets her core items and levels. Later, the tables turn. A successful gank on Naga often requires more than Lion can provide alone. If he does manage to jump the real one, she can use Song of the Siren to pause the fight, let her team collapse, and turn the situation around completely. Success hinges on which hero can better execute their plan at different timings.
