Lion vs Nyx Assassin

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can react to Nyx Assassin with a quick Hex is often a mistake. A good Nyx initiates from Vendetta, appearing right on top of you. Even if Lion does manage to get a spell off first, a well-timed Spiked Carapace can reflect the disable back, leaving him stunned and helpless. On top of that, Mana Burn constantly drains Lion's resources, making it difficult for him to cast his full combo even if he survives the initial burst from stealth.

This dynamic forces Lion to play much more cautiously. He can’t safely ward or move between lanes alone once Nyx Assassin gets his levels, as he becomes a prime target. Sticking with the team becomes essential. For Nyx, the game becomes about finding those small windows where Lion is isolated or has used his spells on someone else. While Lion can certainly win the fight if he gets the jump, Nyx generally has more tools to dictate when and how that engagement happens.
