Lion vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Catching a Pangolier often comes down to instant lockdown, which is Lion’s specialty. Pangolier relies on using Swashbuckle or Rolling Thunder to escape danger, but a quick Hex will stop him before he can react. While Earth Spike can be dodged, Hex is usually a death sentence if Lion gets it off first. This gives Lion a reliable way to handle an otherwise slippery target. On the other hand, Pangolier is great at jumping and bursting fragile supports, and Lion is certainly one of those. If Pangolier gets the initiation, he can often take Lion out of the fight before he can cast his spells.

The matchup becomes a game of reaction time and positioning. A Lion who anticipates Pangolier's movement can wait for him to appear and lock him down for an easy kill. A Pangolier who plays around vision can catch Lion out and remove a key disable from the enemy team. Later on, items like Black King Bar for Pangolier or Blink Dagger for Lion shift the dynamic again. Each hero has a clear win condition against the other, but executing it is difficult, leading to a very even fight where the smarter player usually comes out ahead.
