Lone Druid vs Phantom Assassin

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map early with the Spirit Bear is how Lone Druid creates his advantage, pushing down towers and farming aggressively. This style puts a timer on the enemy team and directly pressures a hero like Phantom Assassin, who wants space to farm her core items. Phantom Assassin, however, can often secure last hits from a safe distance with Stifling Dagger, which helps her stay relevant even when her lane is difficult. While her Blur won't do much against the Bear's early damage, her ability to escape ganks and find farm elsewhere means she doesn't get completely shut down by Lone Druid's tempo.

The mid and late game become a duel of initiation and itemization. If Phantom Assassin gets the jump, she can often burst the real Lone Druid before he can react. On the other hand, a single Entangling Claws from the Spirit Bear is a death sentence for a PA who jumps in, completely negating her mobility. The game often comes down to which hero hits their key item timings first. A farmed Lone Druid can end the game before PA is a threat, while a farmed Phantom Assassin can hunt the relatively squishy main hero and his Bear across the map.
