Lone Druid vs Zeus

How this matchup plays

Splitting damage between Lone Druid and his Spirit Bear is a tough spot for Zeus. His magical burst has to be divided between two targets, one of which can be resummoned or sent to the fountain to heal. Thundergod's Wrath, a major part of Zeus's global impact, only hits the hero, leaving the bear completely free to continue pushing or chasing. While Zeus can be good at chipping down single high-health targets, the Spirit Bear often isn't the primary target of his spells, but it is the primary source of Lone Druid's damage, creating an awkward situation for Zeus in fights.

The dynamic of the game often hinges on a race. Lone Druid wants to get his core items on the bear and use it to run at the very fragile and immobile Zeus. If the bear can connect, Zeus will likely die. In response, Zeus must rely on his team for protection and perfect positioning to stay safe from the bear while trying to find and eliminate the actual Lone Druid hero, who is much more vulnerable. Whichever hero accomplishes their goal first usually dictates the outcome of a fight, keeping the overall matchup very close.
