Luna vs Muerta

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can immune Luna's damage with Pierce the Veil is a common mistake. While Muerta does go ethereal and dodges all of Luna's right-clicks, she also becomes extremely vulnerable to magic damage. This puts her directly in the crosshairs of Eclipse. A well-timed ultimate from Luna can often delete an ulting Muerta before she can get much done, turning her biggest defensive tool into a massive liability. The fight often comes down to who presses their ultimate button first and whether their team is in position to follow up on the advantage.

Later in the game, this dynamic forces Muerta to play cautiously. She can’t simply activate her ultimate to run at the enemy team if Luna is nearby with Eclipse off cooldown. Muerta has to bait it out or wait for Luna to commit it to another target, which can restrict her positioning and timing. This gives Luna a degree of control over teamfights, forcing the enemy carry to react to her rather than setting the tempo herself. It’s a slight but consistent advantage that can tip close engagements.
