Luna vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Trying to stay in lane as Luna feels like a constant struggle against the passive drain from Heartstopper Aura. Necrophos uses this constant pressure to his advantage, sustaining himself while chipping away at her health pool. This makes it difficult for Luna to secure the farm she needs to hit her item timings, often forcing her to play defensively or leave the lane entirely. The attrition war from the very start of the game puts him in a better position to control the tempo.

Later on, the threat of a Reaper's Scythe can completely shut down Luna's attempts to turn a fight at low health. Her usual plan of lifestealing through damage is nullified by the execution. While Necrophos can use Ghost Shroud to become immune to her powerful right-clicks and Moon Glaives, he has to be very careful. Using it at the wrong time makes him extremely vulnerable to a magic damage Eclipse. This timing game is what keeps the matchup from being one-sided, but Necrophos's ability to dictate fights and punish her survivability gives him a small edge.
