Luna vs Outworld Destroyer

How this matchup plays

Getting run down by Luna as Outworld Destroyer feels uncomfortable because of her consistent physical damage output. Your main defensive tool, Astral Imprisonment, gives you a moment of safety from her attacks, but it's only temporary. Once you reappear, Luna is usually still there, ready to keep hitting. Her Moon Glaives will chew through your naturally low armor, and she typically builds items that let her stick to a target. Outworld Destroyer has to rely on this one defensive spell to survive a type of damage he isn't built to withstand, which can leave him exposed.

The game often comes down to a key timing. Outworld Destroyer wants to dominate the mid-game, using his spell damage and control to create pressure before Black King Bars come out. He can use Astral to save himself or set up kills on Luna's allies. Luna’s strategy, however, is often more straightforward: farm quickly, buy a BKB, and then run at the enemy team. Once Luna activates her BKB, she can ignore Sanity's Eclipse and Astral Imprisonment, leaving OD with few options to stop her from overwhelming him with right-clicks.
