Luna vs Primal Beast

How this matchup plays

Getting caught out as Luna is terrifying against a Primal Beast. He can close a huge amount of distance with Onslaught and follow up with his lockdown. Since Luna has no built-in escape and is naturally fragile, she's an ideal target for him to run at from minute one. If he finds her out of position, she often dies without getting to contribute much at all. His entire game plan revolves around this kind of aggressive initiation, and Luna is exactly the sort of hero he's looking to pick off to create an advantage for his team.

The matchup often comes down to a race. Primal Beast tries to set the tempo and punish Luna before she can get her core items online, especially her Black King Bar. Once Luna has BKB, she can usually survive his initial jump and turn to fight. Her high physical damage and bouncing Moon Glaives can shred Primal Beast if he's left exposed after his initial charge. It becomes a game of positioning and cooldowns, where either hero can come out on top depending on who makes the first mistake.
