How this matchup plays

Controlling the map hinges on Pudge's ability to land a good hook. Finding Luna with a Meat Hook before she has defensive items almost always results in a kill, which slows down her farm and creates space for his team. This threat forces Luna to be very careful with her positioning. The entire dynamic depends on her item timings, though. With her fast farming, she can get a Black King Bar sooner than many other carries. Once she has it, Pudge’s main initiation of Hook into Dismember becomes much less of a concern.

This matchup often plays out as a race. In the early and mid-game, Pudge's team wants to be aggressive, hunting for kills to build a lead while Luna is still vulnerable. Her team's job is to protect her, provide vision, and give her space to farm. If Pudge can’t secure a significant advantage during this window, the tables may turn. A farmed Luna isn't afraid of being hooked; getting pulled can be a good way for her to get on top of the enemy team and use Eclipse to full effect.
