How this matchup plays

Slowing down Luna's pace is the main goal for Silencer. His entire kit is a nuisance for her, but Global Silence is the real issue. It can completely stop an Eclipse cast, turning what should be a decisive teamfight moment into a major setback for Luna's team. Last Word can also be a consistent problem before she gets a dispel. On the other hand, Luna's Moon Glaives let her farm the map so quickly that she can often accelerate into a Black King Bar faster than Silencer can build items to survive her physical damage.

This matchup usually comes down to item timings and team coordination. A Silencer who can successfully gank and slow down Luna's farm in the early game sets his team up for strong mid-game fights where Global Silence is at its peak. If Luna gets a clean start, however, she can hit her BKB timing and start forcing objectives. Once she has it, she can often play around the Global Silence cooldown, using her superior farm to split-push and force Silencer to use his ultimate reactively, rather than to start a fight on his own terms.
