How this matchup plays

Facing a Snapfire forces Luna to play around a clear problem of range. Luna wants to get close to do her damage, especially with Eclipse, but Snapfire has multiple tools to prevent this. Mortimer Kisses can zone Luna out of a teamfight entirely, forcing her to reposition or retreat before she can even commit. Firesnap Cookie is also a constant threat, either saving an ally caught by Luna's aggression or pushing Luna herself away at a critical moment. Luna's high physical output is dangerous, but Snapfire often dictates the distance of the engagement, making it difficult to apply that damage effectively.

The matchup comes down to a race for key items. Luna rushes for a Black King Bar to ignore Snapfire’s magical burst and slows, letting her run straight at her targets. Before that timing, Snapfire can be a real bully in lane and in early fights with Scatterblast. Once Luna is farmed, however, Snapfire becomes a primary target and relies heavily on her own positioning and her team's help to survive. The fight hinges on who can better execute their plan: Snapfire kiting from afar or Luna successfully closing the gap.
