How this matchup plays

Fighting into Sven often depends on surviving his initial jump. Luna has high base movement speed, but she can't stand her ground against a Sven with God's Strength active; she has to kite. His Warcry can absorb a lot of the initial damage from Eclipse and her right-clicks, giving him the time he needs to close the distance. Luna's own win condition is often to use Moon Glaives to destroy Sven's teammates before he can reach her, leaving him isolated.

The game is a race to see who can flash-farm faster. Luna typically comes online sooner, able to clear ancient stacks and pressure towers early. She wants to use this tempo to build an item lead before Sven gets his key items. Once Sven has Blink Dagger and BKB, the dynamic shifts. Fights become about his team creating an opening for him to stun and delete Luna. If her team can peel and she maintains distance, her sustained glaive damage will eventually win the fight. It often comes down to which carry gets a better jump.
