How this matchup plays

Farming aggressively is a big risk for Luna in this matchup. Her Moon Glaives let her clear waves and jungle camps very quickly, but this makes her a predictable target for a hero like Treant Protector. He excels at punishing this with Nature's Guise, moving unseen through the woods to scout her position. A well-timed Overgrowth is often a death sentence for a Luna caught out of position. On the other hand, a Treant who reveals himself carelessly can be instantly deleted by Eclipse, and Luna's high sustained damage in fights puts a lot of pressure on his ability to keep teammates alive.

The dynamic creates a game of cat and mouse. Treant Protector tries to slow the game down, using Living Armor to stall pushes and finding pickoffs on Luna to delay her key items. Luna’s goal is to farm a Black King Bar as fast as possible so she can survive the root from Overgrowth and fight more freely. Later on, teamfights often hinge on who initiates. If Treant catches Luna, she’s in trouble. If Luna’s team gets the jump, Treant’s lockdown and defensive abilities might not be enough to save his side from her overwhelming physical damage.
