Lycan vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Trying to push a tower with Shapeshift active feels risky against a Pudge. Lycan's whole plan revolves around overwhelming a single location with his summons and allies, but those same wolves and creeps also body-block Meat Hook. This often protects Lycan and his key targets. On the other hand, if a Hook does connect on the real hero, Dismember provides more than enough lockdown to kill him before he can react. Pudge's innate tankiness from Flesh Heap also helps him survive the initial onslaught if he gets caught out of position, buying time for his team to respond to Lycan's aggression.

The matchup often comes down to who dictates the pace. Lycan wants to force early objectives and end the game with his mid-game power spike, using his summons to create chaos and absorb spells. Pudge’s goal is to slow everything down, finding key pickoffs with Hook to stall out Lycan’s push and prevent the snowball. If Pudge can repeatedly catch Lycan or a core ally, he can break the momentum and create space for his own team to scale. If he misses his opportunities, Lycan's pack will run over the map uncontested.
