Head-to-head Dota 2 7.41f win rate from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Vengeful Spirit wins the Lycan vs Vengeful Spirit matchup: Vengeful Spirit beats Lycan in 53.33% of 6,364 ranked matches.
Picking Vengeful Spirit to deal with a Lycan often comes down to execution. On one hand, a well-timed Nether Swap can completely save a core that Lycan is trying to run down with Shapeshift. Her reliable stun from Magic Missile is also useful for creating space before he gets his key items. On the other hand, Lycan excels at applying pressure that Vengeful Spirit can't handle alone. She has no way to clear his summons when he pushes, and a panicked Swap can accidentally bring a farmed Lycan right into the middle of your team. If he gets his Black King Bar up, her defensive spells are largely ignored, leaving her as an easy target.
