Magnus vs Silencer

How this matchup plays

Using Reverse Polarity often requires a moment of setup, which is the exact window Silencer needs. Global Silence can be used reactively to nullify the teamfight potential, leaving Magnus's allies unable to follow up on the initiation. Last Word is also a constant threat before Magnus gets a Black King Bar, punishing any attempt to Skewer or Shockwave and making his positioning much trickier. This dynamic forces Magnus to be much more deliberate with his big spell, as a single misstep can mean a wasted ultimate and a lost fight.

The whole game becomes a cat-and-mouse situation. Magnus will often try to find and burst Silencer before a fight breaks out, removing the Global Silence threat entirely. Silencer, in turn, must play from the backline and rely on his team for protection, holding his ultimate for the perfect moment. If Magnus can get his BKB, he can ignore the disruption and play his normal game. Until that timing, however, Silencer dictates the rules of engagement, forcing Magnus to play around his cooldown or risk having no impact.
