How this matchup plays

Fighting into an Ursa often comes down to kiting, and Magnus is one of the best at repositioning enemies. A single Skewer can ruin Ursa's attempt to build up Fury Swipes on a core, pushing him far away and buying crucial time for an escape. Horn Toss also provides a valuable interruption to his Overpower sequence. This control isn't one-sided, though. If Ursa gets the jump on Magnus, especially with his own Blink Dagger, Magnus can be shredded before he has a chance to react. Furthermore, Ursa’s Enrage can allow him to survive a full Reverse Polarity and turn the fight right after the stun ends.

This matchup really hinges on who gets to dictate the engagement. A perfect initiation from Magnus can catch Ursa before he can use Enrage or Black King Bar, setting him up for his team. An Ursa player who waits for Reverse Polarity to be used on someone else, however, can then activate his own items and run rampant through the fight, ignoring Magnus's attempts to peel with Skewer. It becomes a game of cat and mouse where neither hero has a decisive advantage. Victory usually comes down to which team better enables their hero's specific game plan.
