How this matchup plays

Catching Weaver with Reverse Polarity seems like the whole story, but it's rarely that simple. Even if Magnus lands his ultimate, Weaver can often survive the stun and immediately use Time Lapse to undo all the damage and repositioning. This forces Magnus to burn his most important cooldown for a kill that isn't guaranteed. Before the fight, Weaver's Shukuchi makes him a nightmare to pin down for a Skewer or even line up for a good ultimate, forcing Magnus to choose between catching other targets or gambling on locking down the insect.

The matchup becomes a game of patience and cooldowns. A Magnus player has to wait for Weaver to misstep or bait out Time Lapse before committing his own ultimate. Meanwhile, the Weaver player has to constantly respect the threat of a Blink Dagger initiation, playing on the edges of fights and applying pressure elsewhere on the map. The outcome often depends on which hero's core ability gets used more effectively in a key moment. It’s a standoff where either player can get the upper hand by outplaying the other, leading to a very even exchange overall.
