How this matchup plays

Using Dispose on a hero trapped inside Arena of Blood allows Marci to undermine Mars's ultimate. She can simply throw an ally to safety or toss Mars himself out of his own coliseum. This interaction is the core of the matchup, as it provides a direct, reliable answer to his biggest teamfight spell. This forces the Mars player to reconsider his primary initiation whenever Marci is nearby and has her abilities available. The same repositioning can be used offensively to throw enemies into the Arena wall, but the defensive save is what gives her a small leg up.

Throughout the game, Mars has to play around Marci's position. A good Arena setup can be quickly undone if she is ready to act. This means Mars will try to catch Marci first or wait for her to be on the other side of the fight before committing his ultimate. The advantage remains slight because it revolves around a single cooldown on each side; if Marci is stunned or out of position, Mars is free to do his job. This same dynamic also makes them poor allies, since Marci can accidentally save an enemy Mars has trapped.
