Marci vs Spectre

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Spectre with Unleash is a painful experience for Marci. All that rapid physical damage gets turned right back on her through Dispersion, often melting Marci faster than her target. Since Marci's entire combo with Dispose and Rebound requires her to be in melee range, there's no way to avoid this reflected damage. If Spectre catches Marci alone, the pure damage from Desolate makes the situation even worse. Marci is built to unload a ton of attacks in a short window, and Spectre is specifically designed to punish exactly that kind of hero.

This dynamic means Marci has a very small window early on to get ahead, but even then, ganking Spectre is risky. Later in the game, Marci is forced to either ignore Spectre in fights or sacrifice herself trying to kill her. A smart Spectre will often welcome the attention, tanking Marci's full combo while her team cleans up. Marci wants to control the tempo and pick off key heroes, but Spectre's ability to join any fight with Haunt and turn Marci's own damage against her fundamentally breaks that game plan.
