Mars vs Mirana

How this matchup plays

Catching someone in Arena of Blood feels pointless when Mirana simply leaps over the wall. Her mobility allows her to completely ignore Mars's signature spell, making it incredibly difficult to pin her down. Even landing Spear of Mars is a challenge, as a good player can often dodge the slow-moving projectile with Leap. Mars wants to control a specific area and hold targets in place for his team, but Mirana’s entire kit is built around not being held in place. She doesn't have to play his game.

This dynamic defines the matchup at all stages. In lane, Mars struggles to apply pressure because Mirana can stay at a distance and Leap away from danger. In mid-game teamfights, his entire game plan is compromised. Using Arena on Mirana is a waste of a huge cooldown, but leaving her free to attack from the outside is often worse. Mars is forced into a no-win situation where he has to play around her constantly, while she can largely ignore his primary threat.
