Mars vs Tidehunter

How this matchup plays

Struggling to secure farm in the lane puts Mars on the back foot from the very start. Tidehunter's Kraken Shell naturally absorbs the constant pressure from God's Rebuke, making it difficult for Mars to establish control. The dispel from Kraken Shell also neuters kill attempts, allowing Tidehunter to survive what would normally be a fatal Spear pin. With Anchor Smash reducing Mars's own attack damage, even trading hits becomes unfavorable. Tidehunter simply wins the resource war and forces Mars out of lane, crippling his early game plan.

This laning dominance allows Tidehunter to set the game's tempo. He gets his core items faster and can start using Ravage to secure objectives for his team. Mars, by contrast, is left scrambling to find farm for his own initiation tools, often falling too far behind to be effective. In teamfights, Arena of Blood is not a reliable answer. Tidehunter is tanky enough to withstand being trapped and can use Ravage to turn Mars's own ultimate into a cage for his allies, completely flipping the script on the fight.
