How this matchup plays

Trapping Weaver in Arena of Blood seems like a clear win condition, but it rarely works out that way. The moment Mars commits his ultimate, Weaver can often slip right out of it with Shukuchi, especially if Mars can't cover the entire escape path. Even if Mars does land a perfect spear into the wall for a stun, a quick Time Lapse will reset Weaver's health and put him back outside the fight, completely undoing Mars's setup. The core lockdown Mars provides is consistently answered by Weaver's basic kit, making it difficult for either hero to establish a real advantage over the other.

Throughout the game, this dynamic forces a stalemate. Mars has to wait for Weaver to misplay or for his teammates to provide instant silence or stuns before he can secure a kill inside his Arena. Otherwise, he risks trapping himself with an enemy he cannot kill. Weaver, on the other hand, struggles to bring down a bulky Mars, especially from the front with Bulwark blocking attacks. He has to play around the edges of the fight, looking for openings on other heroes. The matchup becomes less about who counters whom and more about which hero's team better enables their game plan.
