How this matchup plays

Controlling the map's resources often comes down to a race between these two heroes. Meepo can farm multiple places at once, letting him build a massive net worth lead and take objectives much earlier than most carries. He uses this advantage to apply constant pressure. However, Phantom Assassin’s kit has decent tools for this specific problem. Blur provides evasion that forces Meepo to build a specific counter-item, slowing his own progression. More importantly, Coup de Grace gives her the potential to instantly delete a single Meepo clone from a fight, which can be devastating if it's the main one.

A typical game sees Meepo trying to end things quickly. He'll get his core items, take Roshan, and then force fights with Earthbind to lock down key targets. Phantom Assassin's team has to play to slow the game down, giving her space to farm. She needs to survive Meepo's initial magic burst from Poof, usually with a Black King Bar, before she can confidently jump in. If the game drags on, PA’s ability to blink onto a single clone and delete it can completely turn a fight, making the outcome dependent on which hero can execute their game plan first.
