How this matchup plays

The core tension in this matchup is Shadow Shaman's instant Hex versus Mirana's evasiveness. A successful Hex is one of the most reliable ways to stop Mirana from Leaping away, setting up a kill with Shackles. However, Mirana has powerful tools to fight back. A long-range Sacred Arrow can easily interrupt Shadow Shaman while he's channeling Shackles on an ally or placing his Serpent Wards, completely turning a fight around. Neither hero has a guaranteed advantage when they run into each other; it often comes down to who initiates and who has to react.

Throughout the game, Mirana has to play carefully around vision, as getting caught by Shadow Shaman is often a death sentence.
