How this matchup plays

Picking one of these heroes into the other creates a classic standoff. Mirana's game plan often revolves around landing a long-range Sacred Arrow to set up a kill for her team. Winter Wyvern’s Cold Embrace is the perfect tool to stop this, saving the stunned target from all physical damage and buying precious time. This interaction of initiation versus save defines the matchup. While Mirana’s Leap makes her an elusive target, she has a hard time securing kills on anyone being protected by Wyvern. Likewise, Winter Wyvern can’t easily lock down a mobile Mirana.

The outcome of their engagements comes down to timing and positioning. A successful gank for Mirana's team requires bursting a target down before Winter Wyvern can react with her save. A patient Wyvern player, however, can completely nullify Mirana's pickoff potential by staying behind the core who is most likely to be targeted. Late-game fights introduce Winter's Curse, which can turn a grouped-up assault against Mirana's team. But a well-timed Moonlight Shadow can make finding the right Curse target difficult, keeping the fight on even footing.
